Cyber Security Satus in Nepal

Discretion: This is by no means a promotion of hacking methods!!

Let me start with 3 years back, if you remeber baburam bhattrai's official website was hacked by anonymous nepal mentioning a warning message to reveal the swiss bank details if they didnt take down their proposed strike!!

The website was taken down due to poor security in the SQL database . This is what we call as SQLI ( Structured Query Language Injection). More than 5000 government sites were breached by a single individual(I cannot highlight the name). The tables in the database were openly published in pastebin.

2 years ago, NTCs Server was breached and the customer details were leaked to public causing sever damage to the privacy of the telecommunication!!

Just a week ago, NRB bank was attacked by malware.. with the bank linked persons receiving an automated message from bank 's one of id which prompted to click on a link!

This is the news that went public, there's more to it in the dark side no one has seen. Nepals banking is at high risk, there are people abusing this weakness, there are bank frauds but you dont see so clearly, because they are carried out by using high security measures, debiting a very small amount from those holding bigger amounts in transactions is one of the example, you neglect it! but remember how many transactions are made in a month and how much big this small loss can be. If someone directly debits through server database breach, its noticeable so people involved in this black market dont prefer it!!. Forget what is the source of this!!... I warn .. security is at a prior risk.. paypal abandoned nepal because they have included our country in the list of high banking risk countries for transaction!!. You better understand!!😑
